As you might know, it is Alternate Mouse Month. I would like to rattle off some Mouse techniques that I use, and perhaps there are members here with some more tips. Using programs such as Music Mouse, Midi Mouse Music or Midi Square, you can use similier techniques. 1. Small circular motions within a small grid area. This will cross over to the X and Y axis's and you can get a good blend of both as the scales intertwine with each other. keep it in time to the speed that the Mouse controller is set creating ryhymic patterns. 2. WIDE circular motions , then go back to small circular motions. This will add variety to the patterns created. 3. Vertical , then Horizontal motions, almost like an L or a Z cross cuts on the grid. On Midi-mouse music (Gareth Jones), you can set up different scales for each pattern so this type of action will sound interesting. 4.On Music Mouse, you can mute all axis's exept for one. Then put on a High speed tempo. Then you can produce very quick Riffs and leads that would be impossable on a standard keyboard controller. You can also add pitch bending, and do a Jan Hammer type solo! Quite Fun. Here are some ideas: any more? Tim
