Hello fellow Atarians, Several of you have asked me how the Sequencer section of Schoenberg 5 operates. hear is a brief explanation:- I have often felt that the music generated by Schoenberg can be a bit static with one single Pitch-Row, Length-Row, and Velocity-Row used throughout a composition. Being that Schoenberg can hold 6 different programmable Pitch Palettes and 6 Length Palettes ( selectable by the button to left of the Palettes ) it seemed only natural to find some way of being able to use more than one at a time in a composition. Thus adding to the range and variation in the music created. This is where the Sequencer Page comes in. On the Sequencer Page the composition is split into 8 equal sections ( in the 1Meg version, 2 in the 1/2 Meg ). In each section you can select which of the 6 programmable Pitch, programmable Length, and pre-set Velocity Palettes you want to use in the composition. Hence you can program in either subtle variations using slightly different Pitch and Length Palettes throughout a piece, introduce transpositions, or completely different sounding movements. It must be stressed that this variation only occurs at the "Compose" phase and any of the Playback parameters Playback mode, Bias, Poly, Voice and Channel parameters remain unchanged. I hope that's a bit clearer (??) Gareth Jones http://www.themsc.cjb.net
