I usually do it to a sequence in open mode, and ask for 3 or 4 evolving variations. This gives me the original, followed by a variation, on that, etc. I'll usually do this two or 3 times, and see if anything interesting emerges. Almost always, though, if the first try sounds really bad, my PVG settings aren't suited to the material at hand. Note that a fair number of similar tricks can be done interactively, using the version of Tiger that comes with KCS 5.0 ore 5.11. Now if I could find someone to fund it, I'd write a real-time non-destructive, fully interactive PVG that could work on multiple sequences at once.
