Tim C responded: This *may* not be the case, as I just tried it and it recorded my notes OK,and I did not need to set the arrow keys at the bottom which indicates how many notes are in the row.... but I had to play my notes *firmly* and *slowly*. Also..there might be a problem with Yamaha Keyboards because they tend to send extra sysex data when you play it. Ludwig would not work at all on my Yamaha PSR510. However, it worked fine from my Ensoniq Mirage keybrd. However, with my DX7s ( which I am now using as a controller) It works, but if I play too fast, Ludwig does not catch it. So try playing AMBIENTLY :-) From the Tutorial: Rythym is dealt seperatly in Ludwig as well as velocity. When you are done, hit the space bar.You will see the notes you played in the highlighted area.Select PLAY to hear them back. (You can also select notes with the mouse instead of using a MIDI keyboard). Dr Ambient asks: Can I only select or can I enter notes with the mouse? Grgory Rayee responds: >you can enter notes/note lenghts etc with the mouse/keyboard. >it's difficult to explain this precisely, but you 'll find how to do >it all within the second minute of trying. it's easy. Tim C responds: Other points: from reading the manual on Non-real time Pitch Entry: ============================================================ "To create a pitch pattern, simply click on the desired note name(s) in each chord colmn. The notes will be highlighted. You can enter 16 notes per chord. you can of course just enter one note per chord to create a melody.A chord can have NO NOTES as well, creating a rest. To cancel a note you have entered, simply left click on it again. When the pitch editor first comes onto the screen, the display shows the pitch range from c3 to c4.To access notes above or below this range, hold down the CONTROL key and click inside the four dots that appear at the top of the chord colomn. Left clicking transposes the display down one step.Right clicking transposes the display UP one step. Shift-right/left clicking will transpose the display by octaves instead of steps. Once you have entered a note in the colomn, you can transpose the note(s)up aor down by simply by clicking into the region between the four dots. Lrft click for down, roght click for Up. If you Shift-click in this area once you have enetered some notes, the notes will be transposed by octaves. ALT-Right click, the chord beneath the four dots you clicked on will be copied onto the chord of its immeadiate right. ALT-Left Clicking will copy to the left. Finally, there is a pair of arrows under one of the colomns. You can click below any colomn to place the arrows there. They mark the last colomn in the pitch group.Colomns to the right will not be played. ============================================ Hope this helps Tim
