The Set-Options screen in Tunesmith ===================================== When Tunesmith is open, go to MENU at the bottom of the screen, then select SET OPTIONS. NOTE:many of these "options" are "toggles". Highlighting an option will "turn it on" while no highlight indicate it is not active. ------------------------------------ MIDI MERGE: This is a Midi Thru switch. You will need this on if you want to input notes from amidi keyboard for the EDIT SCALE dialog or DRUM NOTES dialog. SEND MIDI CLOCK:Sends midi clock and start and stop signals. RUNNING STATUS:Strips out any redundent midi status bytes, thus reducing the amount of data being sent. RECORD: when selected, the data generated by Tunesmith will be recorded in a KCS sequence file. Then by selecting SAVE SEQ in the menu, the data is saved. EXTERNAL MIDI:Midi data recieved at the Midi IN will be recorded right along with tunesmith data. RECORD must be turned on for this to work. SEND PROGRAMS AT START: Sends the patch changes specifies in the ACCOMPLANIMENT window in Tunesmith when Tunesmith is started. MIDI CONTROL: allows you to use a midi keyboard to control tonality. See Tonality review txt file. METRONOME:Toggles the metronome beep to the ST's monitor speakers. KEY CLICK: Toggles the Beep heard on the ST's Speaker when you press a key on the computer keyboard. For best results, keep this OFF. ARRANGER LOOP: When on, the arranger will jump back to the first step in the arrangemnt when finsihed with the last step.Other wise, Tunesmith will stop when the arrangement is completed. DELAY TONALITY: This switch affects the way delayed notes respond to a change in tonality. FEEL: Slightly randomizes the output velocities to give more feel / life to Tunesmiths output. ARROW CONTROL:Toggles the effect of the arrow keys on each voice's Velocity and Acent controls. ARROW DELTA: Sets the amount that Velocity and Accent will be changed when you hit an arrow key. DRIVE: Sets the default drive. PRESET CONTROL:Toggles the effect of the accomplaniment presets for CHAN/PROGRAM/and TEMPO. MIDI SLOW: Adds a slight delay between each byte transmitted by midi.This is intened for older synths that may not respond as fast.(such as na old DX7)keep this to 0 unless you have a problem. DEBOUNCE: Sets the response time of the Mouse buttons. STEPS PER MEASURE: Effects only the measure portion of the left display.If set to 0, the left display will be replaced by a static left display. which display the current them in microbeats. STEPS PER METRONOME:Sets the number of steps between metronome clicks.Should be entered in terms of 24 steps per beat. MIDI CONTROL CHANNEL:Sets the channel for MIDI CONTROL. See Tonality review.txt file. MOUSE POINTER: Lets you select 8 different mouse pointers! THEME ALIGNMENT:Determines when a new theme will be executed.(MBEAT/PULSE/THEME) TONALITY ALIGNMENT: Detemines the alignment of tonality changes. EXAMPLE:If set to THEME: any changes in tonalty will be held untill the end of the theme. PRESET ALIGNMENT: Detemines the alignment of accomplaniment preset changes.Same as example above. _________________________________________________________________________
