MyMAIL Environment settings

environment variables:

MyMAIL is using some environment settings to communicate with other
applications and desktops.

For example AV-Server for drag'n'drop together with
desktops like Jinnee and Thing.

AV-Server:

AVSERVER=desktopname (jinnee)

CAB Hotlist:

WWWHOTLIST=path to hotlist (E:\cab25\hotlist.htm)

Sting dialer:

STINGDIALER=path to stings dialer (C:\dialer\dialer.app)

Home:

HOME=home path for user(/home/root)
  • MyMAIL is looking for the environment variable HOME
    and if it exist it will use the path stated in HOME
    to store all its userfiles as mail, user and programsettings.
    If environment variable HOME not is found all files is stored in the programs start directory.
  • The program can be at a different path than the home path.
  • MyMail automaticly creates a folder named mymail in your home directory.
  • Info about where different files must be placed can be found here.
  • This means that mymail can be used in a multiuser environment.
  • HOME is normaly set at login.
  • To override the HOME path do create a file named nohome in the startup folder for MyMAIL.
    • Empty file = use startup path
    • If the file contains a path that will be used.
You have also to setup the clipboard path.

You need to read the documentation for your system (desktop, OS, ...) about how to setup the environment variables.

Desktop:

MyMAIL is sending HTML and links pages to the AV-server
to make it possible for the desktop to open CAB or other web-browsers
you need to set the desktop to open/start the web-browser and FTP clients on specific files.
Set your desktop to start the folowing applications:
  • WEB Browser
    Set the application to start on the files:http://*,*.htm*
  • FTP client
    Set the application to start on the file:ftp://*
